菅総理日本の新しい首相として実権を握り、安倍前総理に取って代わる

菅義偉総理大臣は水曜日、国の第99代総理大臣にな
り、日本の現代史史上最長である、前任者安倍晋三
前総理に率いられた政権を終わらせ、多くの不気味
に漂う政治的、経済的、社会的課題によって形作ら
れた新しい時代の始まりの節目となった。

◆背景知識解説

安倍前首相が持病の悪化を理由に辞任を表明。

それを受けて、自民党が総裁選を実施。

安倍政権の官房長官だった、菅義偉官房長官、
岸田政調会長、石破元幹事長の3人が立候補。
（肩書きはいずれも、当時）

菅官房長官が圧勝し、自民党総裁に就任。

そして、その後、臨時国会で国会より指名を受け、
その後、正式に内閣総理大臣に就任しました。

菅新総理は、秋田県出身で、
高校卒業後に上京し就職した後、法政大学に入学し、
議員秘書を務めた後、横浜市議会議員当選。

そして、国会議員になり、
第１次安倍内閣では総務大臣、第２次安倍内閣では、
官房長官を務めました。
